Specialties
Ashley’s expertise sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, AI infrastructure, and revenue-driven marketing systems:
Cloud-Native Architecture for Growth
Designing and deploying AI-ready, scalable cloud infrastructures that eliminate technical bottlenecks, reduce engineering overhead, and create the foundation for real-time marketing performance.
Infrastructure Optimisation & Modernisation
Transforming legacy systems into cloud-native environments that support rapid experimentation, faster site performance, and efficient MarTech operations.
Engineering for Profitability
Building the technical backbone that powers Firney’s revenue frameworks—from low-latency personalisation engines to CRO testing environments—ensuring that every technical decision meaningfully impacts CAC, LTV, and conversion rates.
AI-Ready Platforms & Data Pipelines
Implementing cloud systems that support machine learning workflows, automated decisioning, and the deployment of conversational commerce tools, recommendation engines, and predictive models.
Scalable, Secure, High-Performance Environments
Leveraging Kubernetes and modern cloud-native principles to build environments that adapt at scale, reduce downtime, and support the performance demands of modern e-commerce.
About Ashley Maloney
Ashley is the CTO & Co-founder of Firney, leading the engineering vision behind the systems that power Firney’s profitability-focused marketing frameworks. His philosophy is simple: if marketing performance is an engineering challenge, then the cloud is its operating system.
With a background in cloud architecture, infrastructure optimisation, and platform engineering, he has spent his career helping organisations modernise their technology foundations so they can actually execute the ambitious strategies they invest in.
Before co-founding Firney, he witnessed a recurring pattern inside enterprises: marketing teams were overflowing with ideas—but blocked by slow infrastructure, rigid legacy systems, and constant deployment bottlenecks. Cloud adoption was often fragmented, poorly implemented, or misaligned with business goals, resulting in expensive platforms that never delivered the efficiency they promised.
This gap became the driving force behind Firney. Rather than treating cloud as a technical upgrade, Ashley reframed it as the backbone of commercial performance—the layer that enables speed, experimentation, personalisation, AI deployment, and the seamless customer experiences that lower CAC and increase revenue.
Today, he architects the technical engines that power Firney’s “Frictionless Commerce Engine,” ensuring that every system—data pipelines, AI models, automation flows, personalisation engines, and CRO testing environments—runs at enterprise-grade speed and scale. His work enables CMOs and CTOs alike to move beyond the limitations of traditional MarTech and embrace a cloud-first ecosystem built for real-time performance.
A strong advocate for Kubernetes and cloud-native application design, he is committed to helping organisations unlock the agility and reliability required to succeed in the modern digital landscape. His leadership continues to shape Firney’s technical roadmap, driving the integration of AI, cloud infrastructure, and revenue-focused engineering.
