Morrisons is in a unique position to support British foodmakers because as well as operating 491 supermarkets, Morrisons is the UK’s largest fresh food maker.
Morrisons is on a path to become a digitally focused retailer; reinventing their proprietary technology and harnessing new opportunities in the cloud.
The top retailer’s technology investigations led them to Kubernetes and, more specifically, Google Cloud Kubernetes Engine.
Having accepted the request for Kubernetes training, the Firney team headed up to Morrison’s Leeds-based head office and training centre.
Our solution
Having discussed a number of relevant technologies with the Morrisons team, we concluded that Kubernetes would be the best choice to fit the increasing demand for scalable platforms within the business.
We created a tailored training course that covered topics from Kubernetes basics, right through to Terraform and Helm, supported by open-source training projects for Fast API and Cloud developed by our in-house team.
The day was a great success and we look forward to the next step in Morrison’s exciting Cloud Journey!
